Marske Community Partnership
A group of volunteers interested in promoting and improving Marske-by-the-Sea.
Formed in 1999 as “Marske Town Centre Partnership” and with the involvement of the remaining business owners on a declining square area where at the time there was 8 boarded up shops.
As the area improved this interest faded and more community issues were addressed by a wider group of people who were willing to raise funds for their endeavours and in 2005 the name was changed to “Marske Community Partnership”.
Some of the well known activities are the Annual Christmas Lights and Festival and celebrations for the Queens Golden Jubilee and VE Day.
At the beginning of 2010 they received their first ever large donation of £4000 from the Marske Fishermen’s Choir. This will not however stop theirCollections, Coffee Mornings or Raffles continuing in order to fund other community projects.
Marske Ladies Lifeboat Guild and Marske Fishermen’s Choir assisted the then “Town Centre Partnership” to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in the grounds of the Cheshire Home.
Musical Director, Mr Bill Porritt presents the cheque of £4000 to Nadean Porritt and David Lambert committee members of the Marske Community Partnership.
